How do i know if its the Tie rod or the wheel bearing? Zero play up and down or side to side or front to back is what you are looking for. take it to a QUALITY shop to get the alignment done, even IF Sears has a guarantee.
Top/Bottom movement is ball-joints, side to side movement would be tie rods. some play needed in the bearings but not too much, pull the wheel of they might not been tightened has much as the other side. you might be.
